Lifting beams also come in several configurations to solve different problems:

A simple I-beam or box-beam with a fixed top bail and fixed bottom lugs. A workhorse for straightforward, repetitive lifts in low-headroom areas.

This type has multiple, pre-set attachment points on the bottom, allowing riggers to change the spread between the lower slings to accommodate different load widths.

An innovation for unbalanced loads: the top lifting point (bail) can slide and lock along the beam. Aligning it with the load’s center of gravity keeps the lift level and prevents tilting.

For large, flexible items like metal plates or panels, a two-point lift isn’t enough. An “H” or rectangular multi lifting beam gives four+ support points from one crane hook, preventing sagging or damage.
