Founded in 1917, Peerless Chain Company began as a small automotive tire chain manufacturer and has grown into the Peerless Industrial Group, Inc. — the largest chain manufacturer in the United States. As part of KITO Corporation's global network, Peerless serves overhead lifting, below-the-hook and cargo control, hardware, marine, and traction markets worldwide.
Peerless products are engineered for demanding applications in construction, oil and gas, marine, transportation, and industrial manufacturing. Holloway Houston stocks and distributes Peerless products with same-day shipping capability from Houston, TX.
Holloway Houston stocks Peerless Grade 80 and Grade 100 alloy lifting chains in a range of sizes, sold by the linear foot. All Peerless lifting chain meets ASME B30.9 requirements for overhead lifting sling applications when used with appropriate end fittings and per OSHA 1910.184 requirements.

In addition to lifting chain, Peerless Industrial Group manufactures a comprehensive range of below-the-hook material handling equipment designed for industrial, manufacturing, and warehouse environments. Holloway Houston stocks and distributes the following Peerless below-the-hook product lines:

Peerless lifting beams are engineered for below-the-hook lifting applications where a rigid load spreader is required to distribute the lift force across two or more attachment points on a load. Peerless beams are available in standard capacities and configurations and are manufactured to meet ASME B30.20 below-the-hook lifting device standards.

Peerless spreader beams are used in two-crane or two-hoist lifts where a rigid spreader is needed to control load stability and manage out-of-vertical sling angles. Spreader beams are designed with attachment points at both ends, and the crane or hoist hooks attach to the ends of the beam.

Peerless coil lifters are specifically designed for the safe and efficient handling of steel coils, paper rolls, and other cylindrical or coiled material. The coil lifter engages through the eye of the coil with a hook and mandrel mechanism, allowing the coil to be lifted, transported, and set down without the need for slings or additional rigging hardware.

Peerless pallet lifters are designed for overhead crane lifting of standard pallets and pallet-loaded materials. They provide a safe and efficient alternative to forklift handling in environments where crane access is preferred or where loads exceed forklift capacity or access constraints.

Peerless fork truck accessories extend the capability of standard forklift equipment for lifting and material handling tasks beyond the reach of standard fork tines. Products include coil rams, pipe poles, and other fork-mounted attachments designed to handle cylindrical, coiled, or irregularly shaped loads safely.
Peerless Grade 80 and Grade 100 lifting chains are sold by the linear foot with cut-to-length available on most sizes. Minimum order quantities may apply — contact our team for details. We ship from our Houston, TX warehouse with same-day processing on in-stock items.
For high-volume or custom requirements, our team can assist with chain sling assembly, proof testing, and certification services.
The choice between Grade 100 and Grade 80 depends on the required working load limit, the permitted chain diameter, and cost considerations. Grade 100 provides 25% more capacity at the same chain size, which is particularly valuable when rigging space or sling weight is limited.
| Specification | Grade 80 | Grade 100 |
|---|---|---|
| WLL at same size | Baseline | +25% vs Grade 80 |
| Color code (Peerless) | Yellow/orange links | Pink powder coat |
| Cost per foot | Lower | Slightly higher |
| Best for | General overhead lifting, standard slings | Space-constrained lifts, weight-sensitive slings |
| ASME B30.9 compliant | Yes | Yes |
Peerless lifting chains and below-the-hook equipment are manufactured to comply with applicable industry standards. Users are responsible for verifying that products are used within rated capacities and in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and rigging practices.
| Standard | Description |
|---|---|
| ASME B30.9 | Chain slings — safety standard for overhead lifting |
| ASME B30.20 | Below-the-hook lifting devices |
| OSHA 1910.184 | Slings — occupational safety requirements |
| OSHA 1926.251 | Rigging equipment for material handling (construction) |

Grade 100 alloy lifting chain has a 25% higher working load limit than Grade 80 chain at the same chain size. This means a 3/8" Grade 100 chain has a WLL of 8,800 lbs versus 7,100 lbs for 3/8" Grade 80 chain. Grade 100 is typically identified with a pink powder coat color per Peerless specification. Grade 80 is the general-purpose standard; Grade 100 is preferred where higher capacity or a smaller/lighter chain is needed
Peerless lifting chain is used across a wide range of industries including oil and gas production and maintenance, offshore and marine operations, construction and structural steel erection, manufacturing and fabrication, shipbuilding and dry dock operations, and general industrial material handling.
Yes.
